Senior Finance Manager (m/f/d)


We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Senior Finance Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in owning the finance function – from accounting to financial modelling. This is an eager opportunity also to support the company's VC management and fundraising, as well as be responsible for professionalizing the finance function. The Senior Finance Manager will be based in Freiburg, Germany, and will report directly to the CFO. The role will include the following tasks but will not be limited to:


  • Proven experience in a comparable role, or in a role such as financial analyst in a scale-up company environment, ideally in the manufacturing sector
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends, both within the company and general market patterns
  • Proficient user of finance software
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Strong grasp of financial metrics and operational KPIs that drive values
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or related
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills
  • Fluent English language skills, German is a nice to have


  • Plan, organize, and execute financial tasks and projects of the organization
  • Complete and provide financial reports, interpret financial information, lead the month-end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecasts while recommending further courses of action
  • Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-controlling purposes
  • Manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking, and reports
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken
