Pioneering innovation

Andreas Bett is a member of NexWafe’s Technology Advisory Board. Since 2017, Bett has served as a director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Europe's largest solar research institute.

One of his main research topics is the development of highly efficient multi-junction solar cells, with a focus on the development of multi-junction solar cells based on III-V semiconductors for use in space to power satellites, and for use in concentrating PV systems. Multi-junction solar cells with silicon as a sub-cell are also a priority in his research. Additionally, Bett is interested in questions ranging from materials to epitaxial growth, to device and integration into the system and the development of characterization techniques for new solar cell devices.

Bett is currently a professor of "Solar Energy - Materials and Technologies" at the University of Freiburg. He has held this position in the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics since April 2020.

Dr. Wilbert van den Hoek is a member of NexWafe’s Technology Advisory Board. He is the author of more than 30 technical papers and holds 24 US patents.

He spent six years on the board of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, a leader in advanced embedded solutions for the world’s most innovative automotive, industrial, smart home appliances, consumer electronics and medical products. He also spent 17 years at Novellus Systems, a leading provider of advanced process equipment for the world’s semiconductor industry, where he held the roles of chief technical officer, executive vice president of integration and advanced development, president and chief executive. Novellus was acquired by Lam Research Corp. in a transaction valued at approximately US$3.3 billion in December 2011.

Dr. van den Hoek currently serves as Executive Chairman of Neocera LLC, as Chairman of Jiaco Instruments BV, and as a member of the board of directors of Innovent Technologies, LLC., Chairman Of The Board of 4DS Memory Limited from Oct 2020 - Present, and as a Technical Advisor at EFFECT Photonics from Sep 2012 - Mar 2021.

Dr. van den Hoek graduated Cum Laude from the Rijks Universiteit Utrecht, The Netherlands in December 1979 with a Doctorandus degree in Physical Chemistry.

Chris Case advises and supports the Executive team on the development of Oxford PV strategy, particularly with respect to the commercialisation of its technology. Chris serves as Chief Technology Officer at Oxford PV. Previous CTO at BOC (part of Linde) Chris was responsible for the strategy and R&D of an €8bn enterprise, with key experience in the development of the tandem concept, global experience in IP management and business growth.

Chris is a recognized leader in the solar industry, serving on the boards of PVthin and the European Solar Manufacturing Council.

Chris holds an Msc. Engineering from Brown University.
